Aprašymas

Tell Your Dreams is a cross-disciplinary exploration of human aspiration, narrated through dreams—both personal and collective. Published in conjunction with the opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the book reframes the act of dreaming as a fundamental way of imagining alternative futures.

This book elaborates, documents and discusses dreams from both individual and collective perspectives. Architect Ma Yansong’s visions of humanity, the world and the future intertwine with vivid viewpoints from people of all walks of life and nations, jointly forming this multifaceted, ever-changing world. Rather than presenting architectural projects, the book uses imagery related to architecture as a visual backdrop—inviting readers into a realm of imagination, memory, and possibility.

Structured around five thematic chapters, each opens with Ma’s personal dream narrative, followed by roundtable conversations with global participants who share their own stories and reflections.  The conversations range across time, AI, identity, nostalgia, nature, temporality, and peace, yet no architectural case studies or project documentation appear in the text. Instead, architectural imagery (photographs, renderings, and film stills) serves as a visual motif that evokes spatial emotions without explaining built works.

Combining visual essays, intimate storytelling, and multi-vocal discourse, the book offers a non-specialist entry point into contemporary thinking about the future—positioning dreams not as escapism, but as a vital collective resource.  The result is a hybrid art book that balances visual richness with accessible storytelling—neither a technical manual nor a monograph, but a contemplative journey through the dreams that shape us.

With Contributions by Dang Qun – Principal Partner, MAD Architects; Yosuke Hayano – Principal Partner, MAD Architects; Guo Fan – filmmaker; and Fram Kitagawa – curator
